Emergency Melbourne Snake Catcher & Removal

The most common snakes we receive calls for are Tigers, Eastern Browns, Copperheads and the Red Bellied Black. These snakes are highly venomous. If bitten by an Eastern Brown and no help is administered within 45min, the consequences will most likely be fatal. For this reason, we make it a priority to attend promptly to all calls.

Please do not harm the snake. Not only is this an offence by law, you are more likely to be bitten. Snakes are just as afraid of you as you are of them. Let the experts come and collect it so it may be relocated to a new home.

Hopefully, the client still has their eyes on it. We use a snake hook, basically a golf club with a hook at the bottom rather than a putter end and a sack/tub. We then coax the snake gently into the sack.

By law, all snakes are relocated ideally within 5km of where it was found.  We ensure that wherever we relocate the snake that this is safe for humans and animals.

Summer definitely is the busiest time of the year for snake sightings. Interestingly though, we also get calls throughout the year for “displaced” reptiles. For example, someone say, with an illegal, private collection of exotic reptiles from all over the world will release the snakes in an effort to avoid being charged with possession of illegal reptiles.
